Pink Boots
I was thinking to myself as to why human beings feel the need to express themselves.Think of the many millions of ways we try to do this. Whether it is a painting, sculpture, the clothing we choose to wear, the way we decorate our homes, the coffee mugs we choose to drink out of . We adorn ourselves with jewelery ,tattoos and makeup. How did we first learn or desire to do this?A two year old toddlers is given toys to play with, his parentss teach him to speak so now the child has choices to make and the means to convey what it is he wants. I recently purchased a pair of PINK steel toed boots for work. Why did I choose them? Why didn't I just choose the plain ones that everyone else wears? Am I afraid that I as a person will NOT be unique and get lost in a sea of souls and not stand out among the crowd? Is that the really the reason people seek to express themselves? Where does it all stop? The more people there are in the world the harder we fight to be unique individuals...

You are so wierd!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBut the pink work boots are cool !!!!
Yes Frantasia, the ramblings of a madwoman usually are.If you are going to view my blogsite all the time could you please list yourself as a follower..that would be extremely kind of you. Anyway that's what blog's are for.. the perceived "weirdos".and plus what makes you any less weird than moi? Ask yourself that question. And ask yourself why some people view others as weird. Why do do want to be viewed as normal? that is precisely what I was trying to say above..that some people like to be a part of the flock and blend in an thers choose to stand alone.
ReplyDeleteThe weirder the better is my opinion. I have seen the ramblings of many a demented soul on this world wide web. There is a reason that it is called a net.... butterfly net perhaps? or a fishnet that catches the unwary reader. Pink work boots are merely a way to point out to others that you are unique, you march to a different drummer. You need to point this out all the time because weirdness is a harsh misress and needs to be constantly fed.
ReplyDeleteRight.........
ReplyDeleteYes T weirdness is a harsh mistress. I think that some people try too hard to walk the tightrope of normalcy. Perhaps they are afraid of being laughed at or ridiculed. Some people try to stay within the scope of what society deems as "normal" yet others go too far and become a caricature of their real selves and then wonder why people laugh at them.
ReplyDeleteThere are those few people who embrace their weirdness and don't give a passing thought to whether they are normal or not. They just are. There are others who see themselves as extraordinary and try to impress others with their specialness. In the end they are merely looking for sheep to follow them. People laugh at others because it is human to do so not necessarily because the laughees are weird, just because they need to find humour in all things. what is life if you can't laugh. The trick is to not be malicious, and to realize that others are likely laughing at YOU.
ReplyDeleteA further trick is to be able to laugh at oneself and laugh heartily at that which I personally do on a daily basis!
